2007 fashions repeating again in 2008?

Maybe it is just me or does it seem like the style in 2007 is now repeating this year? As I am flipping through the pages of my 2007 magazines, I notice that a lot of the designer ads and fashion spreads have the same clothes that are now beginning to come popular this year. Look at this Juicy Couture ad. She is wearing 4 things that I had on my list for 2008 fashions, but this is a 2007 ad. She is wearing plaid, fur, punk femininity, and gloves. Then look at this fashion spread in a Teen Vogue issue August 2007. In all of the pages
on this spread they show those zipper booties with scrunched socks, which was a big hit on the runway this season. Fashion just never seems to have a new twist, it all just repeats itself. Does anyone agree with me on this?

Comic Con 2008

Back from San Diego! When everyone was dressed up in their harajuku and comic graphic tees at the Comic Con, I was roaming around the convention center in my nylon dress and vans. The Comic Con was awesome. Gerard Butler, Guy Ritchie, and the cast from Twilight were there. I didn't get to see the Twilight cast because, practically everyone who was there was coming for that. I didn't even bother waiting in the mile long line because I wanted to see Gerard. The picture above, is Gerard signing autographs for everyone for his upcoming movie RocknRolla. As I got mine he looks up at me and says "Oh you are lovely." AAAAAA! Then I got another signature on this Phantom of the Opera picture, when me, my mom, another family, and some paparazzi were waiting at this little secret place where all the actors came out to get in their cars. While waiting for about 2 hours for Gerard to come out I spoke to the paparazzi dude. He turns out to work for the TMZ show and was getting some videos. He was pretty cool. Anyways, I still wish I could've seen the Twilight cast, but Gerard was good enough. Here are pictures!

Here is Gerard and I believe Idris Elba answering questions about the new movie RocknRolla from the audience.

Gerard

That guy with the sunglasses was rumored to be Ludacris, but I am not sure. He was pretty rude to his fans though.

Here we were follwing him down the corridor. He was outside were were inside. He is the guy in the white oxford and khaki pants.

Outfits and Such for SoCal

Packing today. Here are few combinations I put together. I was too lazy to try them on again so I just took picutres on the clothes. Typical Cali wear, comfy and breezy. I am not trying to be overly stylish here. There is only so much my duffel can hold. Ignore the poor quality, my camera is being stupid.

Van High Tops

These lovely, quirky shoes on the left are now at the top of my wishlist. The cute little cartoons are drawn by Keren Richter, who is currently my new idol. She has many of the same interests as me such as painting, the 60s, and of course fashion. And get this, she likes dollhouses too. Finally someone who understands me!Yay! She is a pretty sick artist. She makes many other products such as tees which you can see below, along with some of her artwork, etc.

Go to kerenrichter.com if you want to look further into this amazing artist.

San Diego

Hi all! Back from camp. Not my best experience, last month's I went to was way better. Anyways, I am continuing to organize for San Diego. Here is a picture of my outfits that are set up. They are all sprawled out on the floor, so they might be hard to see, but here they are!! I know I have some Hollister stuff, but one is for the driving there and one is for layering so don't worry. Give me suggestions on more pieces of clothing that would be good to take to SoCal.

Clueless

Here is another one of my favorite movies. Clueless. It is so cute and hilarious. Also, Cher has some wonderful outfits. Starring Alicia Siliverstone as Cher, a high school student who lives in Beverly Hills. At first she might seem superficial, but that hides her adorable charm and wit. Take a look at this video for a sneak peek at this hilarious film if you haven't already seen it.

Pink VS

I have never looked at the Victoria Secret Pink, but for some reason today I came across their website. It wasn't really my style, but once I looked a little more, I found some really cute stuff. I liked the preppy style of it and the comfortable dorm wear look. The picture on the left is one of my favorite outfits that was shown in the 'Looks we love' section. I am dying to get that skirt now, since I been wanting a school girl skirt for school. Check out the website sometime if you haven't.

Lula Magazine.

As usual, I am surfing online looking through fashion websites and online fashion magazines, when I stumble upon this wonderful magazine called Lula. Just my luck, it says it doesn't sell to the USA except to Florida. Being unable to fly to Florida to get a magazine, I look through some pictures of their spreads on fashion forums. I fall in love with their colorful photography and immediately get inspired. In case you know a secret place in the USA where they sell this wonderful magazine, let me know. Why don't you take a look at some of my favorite pictures I have found from their magazine:

Harajuku Girl

My newest inspiration....Harajuku Girls. With their pink accessories, gothic vibe, and punk wear, how can you not get inspired. If you also like this trend here are some pictures so you can get a few ideas from these abstract girls.

Different Forms of Harajuku Style:
Gothic Lolita- This style involves wearing elegant, gothic, and femine clothing. You are supposed to look as if you are a Victorian doll.
Cosplay-This is when you dress up as one of your favorite anime or cartoon character.
Kawaii-Meaning cute in Japanese is when you dress in childlike clothes. Toys, ruffles, and pastel colors are incorporated in your outfit.
Decora-This style, you decorate yourself, form head to toe, in plastic toys and jewelry.
Remember to walk around in confidence in these outfits or you will look like a poser!

Snow Bunny in July.

Yet another find at that wonderful clothing exchange I talk about. Here I am cleaning out my room and stuck under my green chair I notice my boots that I bought from there for the coming fall. I put them on with some skinnies and I start to add more pieces to my outfit. And here it is. Its awfully winter-ish, but I will save it until fall. Not my best outfit, but for fun I thought I would add it. Boots: Puma from Clothing Exchange
Purse:My sisters
Jacket: Tillys
Wool Vest: My sisters

Audrey Hepburn in Two for the Road

While getting movies at the library for my movie marathons, I see a movie that Audrey Hepburn is in that I have not seen! "Oh this is definitely be the first one I watch tonight," I think.
Back at home, after dinner, I slide Two for the Road in my DVD player. It was love at first sight. Audrey is splendid in this movie and has the most stylish outfits. After watching it, I immediately jot this movie down on my favorite movie list.
Here is a clip from this movie. Enjoy!

Fact: This is the movie when Albert Finney was the ONLY man to call Audrey a 'bitch' even though it was just his line. haha.

'Rawr,' That means I love you in dinosaur

As I was making my way downtown to go to American Apparel to get a dress that I been wanting for a while, I stop at one of my favorite clothing exchanges. As I browse around I see that dress I've been wanting for the last 2 months. I pick it up, run for the dressing room and throw it on. What do you know? Fits perfect. Not really caring about the price I set it carefully on the counter and look through the sunglasses and find a nice pair that remind me of Audrey Hepburn in her movie Two For the Road. I throw in the pair of sunglasses to my purchase too. "$25.66, please," the girl who rings me up says. I about faint. This dress was originally $48.00 at American Apparel and only $12.00 here! Plus with the cost of the sunglasses. I dish out my cash, happy I didn't use my whole wallet. So here is the dress and the sunglasses in this outfit along with my vans and dinosaur backpack. Pretty nice find uh?
